Position Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Job Developer is responsible for preparing St. Patrick Center clients in the food service training program to enter full-time employment and find them positions in the food service field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Liaison with agency program staff for client intake and movement throughout the program
• Liaison with food service organizations to develop placement opportunities
• Have a working knowledge of all positions worked by clients in every area of food service at St. Patrick Center
• Work side-by-side with the clients when possible, but at least once every two weeks
• Work with Director of Food Service on staffing
• Develop Individual Vocational Plans for each client
• Understand Café Manager job and act as a backup when needed
• Coach clients in all areas of operation
• Provide training to clients in food service operations
• Meet with the clients regularly to have an understanding of how their training is going
• Ensure that the clients have up-to-date resumes and have the ability to complete work applications
• Develop and maintain relationships with any and all perspective employers for the clients
• Place clients into permanent, fulltime positions with prospective employers
• Follow up with clients and employers to track their progress after placement
• Schedule a graduation at least once every six months for all who graduated during that time
• Other duties as assigned

DIRECT REPORTS:
• Clients in program

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
• At least one year of experience working in a social service agency
• Experience in the food service field
• Administrative experience

• Ability to lead and motivate people
• Ability to operate a personal computer
• Flexible attitude
• Genuine interest in clients
• Understanding of homeless issues
• Ability to work with other staff in other departments
